- INTERACTIVE STORYTIME VOLUME 1 NOTES
- ------------------------------------
-
- SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- To run Interactive storytime, you need a VGA Card and monitor, mouse,
- 640K RAM, MS-DOS 3.3 or higher, and, of course, an audio-capable
- CD-ROM drive with MSCDEX.
-
-
- AUDIO
- All of the speech and music of Interactive Storytime are played directly
- through your CD-Rom headphone jacks and the left and right out jacks (located
- either on the rear of your CD-Rom drive or on the CD-Rom interface card).
- The sound WILL NOT play through a sound card (i.e. AudioMaster, Soundblaster
- or other sound card) unless you have specifically routed your audio through
- your sound card. See your sound card manual for details.

-
- RUNNING INTERACTIVE STORYTIME WITH WINDOWS
- The root directory of your Storytime CD contains a Windows icon and PIF
- file. The icon file name is called ISTV1.ICO and the PIF file is called
- ISTV1.PIF.
-
- To install the icon in Windows, you should first open the group where you
- want the icon to appear. Then go to the FILE menu at the top of your screen
- and select NEW. You will be then prompted to either create a new file or
- a new group. Click on the File button and then click on OK. Now the
- "Program Item Properties" box will appear. You should first enter in the
- 'Command line' box X:\ISTV1.PIF where X is the letter of your CD-Rom drive.
- Now click on the 'Change Icon' button and enter in the 'File name' box
- X:\ISTV1.ICO where again X is the letter of your CD-Rom drive and click OK.
- Click on OK again and your icon will appear in the group you selected.
-
- The PIF file that has been included should work most of the time. If for
- some reason you encounter an error while running under Windows, you can
- alter the file using 'PIF Editor' located in the 'MAIN' group and then save
- the file to your hard drive. If you modify the PIF file, you will also need
- to change the icon's properties to reflect the new location of the PIF file.
-
- Most often, the option you will need to change is the 'Memory Required'
- section. You may make this value lower, however it shouldn't be made
- lower than approx 472 Kb. Please refer to your Windows manual for
- additional details.
